ABOUT THE MUSEUM >
Surrey Heath Museum has existed since the 1930s, beginning as Camberley Museum and changing to Surrey Heath Museum in 1984. The museum is in The Square shopping centre, Camberley with displays on our local history, small shop and research enquiries.
Free Entry
OUR COLLECTIONS >
The early items in the collection were donated by Harold Poulter, the first Curator and grandson of local architects, The Poulter Brothers. For nearly 100 years the collection has been added to and includes items from prehistoric times through to modern day - agricultural, costume, paintings, photographs, domestic and industrial items - up to 40,000 objects.
HERITAGE GALLERY >
Surrey Heath Museum created a unique community partnership when we joined with the Heritage Gallery in June 2018, a long supporter of our work. The Museum is on the ground floor of 33 Obelisk Way and the Heritage Gallery on the first floor. They hold talks on a variety of subjects every Thursday lunchtime and a space for local historians, craft and artist displays plus second hand book shop.

Displays & Collection
Our permanent displays cover the history of Surrey Heath and include archaeology, geology, local commerce, military history and our wonderful natural history. We have a World War I kitchen and World War 2 parlour and air raid shelter. Ten percent of our collections are on display, the remaining is in store and used for changing displays and research enquiries.
-
Exhibitions & Events
We run a busy exhibition programme with 3 to 4 change-overs a year, plus special displays.
Each year we run a series of walks, talks and children's workshops. Plus have a Heritage Supporters' Group who visit local places of interest.
